A new $57 million residential project called Birchway Quarry Falls will bring 378 multi-family units to north Fort Worth. Located on the northeast corner of Old Decatur Road and I- 820, the project will include nine, three-story buildings. According to a state filing, construction will begin in August.
Jobs
Dollar General is adding a massive distribution warehouse in Justin that will create about 200 jobs. The one million-sqft facility is in the Intermodal Commerce Center where apparel company Ariat International also has a distribution center. The property is located just south of State Highway 114.
Sports
The Arlington Renegades made history over the weekend by playing + winning in their first XFL Championship Game. The Renegades won 35-26 against the DC Defenders on Saturday in San Antonio’s Alamodome. (ESPN)
Eat
The owners of Margie’s Original Italian Kitchen said the restaurant won’t reopen until later this year. In May, we reported that it was bought by the owners of JD’s Hamburgers and would undergo two months of renovations. They said the space needs more work than expected and will likely open in December.
Arts
This art is paw-sitively adorable — artist Julie Richey created a series of sculptures to encourage adoption at the North Animal Care and Adoption Campus. Commissioned by Fort Worth Public Art, the project features flat + three-dimensional cat and dog mosaic sculptures.
