Development
  • A new $57 million residential project called Birchway Quarry Falls will bring 378 multi-family units to north Fort Worth. Located on the northeast corner of Old Decatur Road and I- 820, the project will include nine, three-story buildings. According to a state filing, construction will begin in August.
Jobs
  • Dollar General is adding a massive distribution warehouse in Justin that will create about 200 jobs. The one million-sqft facility is in the Intermodal Commerce Center where apparel company Ariat International also has a distribution center. The property is located just south of State Highway 114.
Sports
  • The Arlington Renegades made history over the weekend by playing + winning in their first XFL Championship Game. The Renegades won 35-26 against the DC Defenders on Saturday in San Antonio’s Alamodome. (ESPN)
Eat
  • The owners of Margie’s Original Italian Kitchen said the restaurant won’t reopen until later this year. In May, we reported that it was bought by the owners of JD’s Hamburgers and would undergo two months of renovations. They said the space needs more work than expected and will likely open in December.

  • This art is paw-sitively adorable — artist Julie Richey created a series of sculptures to encourage adoption at the North Animal Care and Adoption Campus. Commissioned by Fort Worth Public Art, the project features flat + three-dimensional cat and dog mosaic sculptures.

Live Music on the Plaza, Sundance Square | Stop by before or after dinner for live music from 7 to 10 p.m. every Friday-Sunday.

Lunchtime Music Series, Burnett Park | Step away from work and enjoy lunch outside with live performances every Wednesday through June 14 starting at 12 p.m.

Friday on the Green, Magnolia Green | Grab your lawn chair for live music, food vendors, and family fun on June 9, September 8, and October 13.

Saginaw Concert Series, Switchyard Food Truck Park | Bring the kids for live musical performances, food trucks, and outdoor entertainment. Note: The concert will be held at Saginaw Recreation Center on July 20.
