Trinity River

Woodshed Smokehouse | The Tim Love concept is an ode to smoked meats and wood-fired cooking overlooking the bank of the Trinity River. Grab a seat inside or on the spacious patio by the water and adjacent trail.

Quince | The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating with a large patio by the river. Stop by at sunset for views of the city and a wide range of menu items like salad, sushi, and burgers.

Ascension Coffee | Located on the back side of the WestBend shopping center, the coffee shop features indoor seating and an expansive patio near the Trinity Trail and River.

HG Supply Co. | Grab a seat indoors in the AC or outside on the patio by the Trinity River. Located next to Ascension Coffee, the restaurant offers tacos, salads, sandwiches, and specialty drinks.

  • Lolas Cuban Food just opened its first brick-and-mortar in Cityview Centre at 4608 Bryant Irvin Rd. The food truck opened in 2019 serving traditional Cuban cuisine like roasted pork sandwiches, rice and beans, and plantains. Stop by 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

  • Tiger Woods is bringing his mini-golf entertainment center PopStroke to The Colony, about 40 miles northeast of downtown. According to a state filing, the venue will feature 37 outdoor holes, an outdoor playground area + food and drink service. It’s expected to open at the end of the year.

  • City leaders will vote on a $21.4 million tourism contract to boost local sporting events and film production in a City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 25. The five-year contract with Visit Fort Worth would be about a $3 million increase from the current $18 million budget.

  • Fort Worth Bike Sharing is celebrating its 10th birthday and you can get in on the fun. The bike-sharing service is offering free rides on Earth Day (Saturday, April 22) with code “10ANNI.” Find a bike station near you.

Syndicate Smokedown returns to the Stockyards

The Syndicate Smokedown returns to the Stockyards on Saturday, April 15 with country music and mouthwatering food.

The barbecue competition will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with Texas’ top self-proclaimed pitmasters. Judges will select the top 10 winners in each category — spare ribs, chicken, and brisket — with the champion winning earnings from a $20,000 prize purse. Pitmasters have until tomorrow to register.

Aside from delicious eats, the outdoor festival will feature musical performances from the Josh Abbott Band, Kevin Fowler, The Randy Brown Show, and more.

The event will be held in the parking lot behind Riscky’s BAR-B-Q off East Exchange Avenue. Pro tip: Sign up for the Stockyards Heritage Club to receive a monthly code for free parking.

Ticket options include $175 VIP, $45 BBQ, and $35 general admission. Proceeds will benefit the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate’s mission to provide scholarships to young livestock exhibitors.
