We asked, you answered. Here’s what locals thought would happen this year — and how those predictions turned out.

Earlier this year, we polled our readers for their zaniest predictions for 2024. Here are some of your responses... and how they panned out:

Prediction: “The Highway 820/121 construction will be finished.” — Barry R.
Outcome: Nope. The 820 construction continues.

Prediction: “Dallas Stars win the Stanley Cup.” — Scott H.
Outcome: Unfortunately, the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup this year. But you never know what 2025 holds — keep tabs on the Dallas Stars.

Prediction: “Taylor Sheridan will buy more restaurants and property in the Stockyards.” — Julia K.
Outcome: Julia totally called it. The creator of “Yellowstone” partnered with the owners of Cattlemen’s Steak House to renovate the restaurant. There were also rumors that he’d buy Joe T. Garcia’s.

Prediction: “Cowtown will get a second Trader Joe’s location.” — Rebecca M.
Outcome: Sorry, TJ’s fans. The location on South Hulen Street remains the one and only Fort Worth Trader Joe’s.
