The 100+ miles of the Trinity Trails provide a great escape for bikers, runners and recreational sports enthusiasts.

Do you love a Saturday morning on the Trinity Trails or an evening jog through the park? If so, now’s your chance to get involved in the future of Cowtown’s outdoor spaces.

Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) recently hired local landscape architecture firm Dunaway Associates to work on the TRWD Recreation Master Plan. The $317,700 contract is set to be complete by the end of the year.

The master plan — the first in more than 10 years — will help preserve and enhance the 100+ mile Trinity Trail system, four lakes, three major parks, as well as associated recreation areas, event spaces, and activities.

The project will also examine the future of LaGrave Field alongside Panther Island development studies.
