It’s peak summer, and we’re knee-deep in baseball season. After last night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game, we’re on an American League high. So, we’re taking you with us for a day at Globe Life Field.

In case you missed it, 2022 is the 50th Anniversary season for the Texas Rangers + they’re currently third in the American League West. But before you can cheer on the Rangers, you’ll have to shag yourself from tickets.

Parking 🚗

Perhaps the most complicated part of attending major sporting events is parking. So that you don’t become your parents and have to strategize the traffic patterns, we’re breaking it down. Use this map to help you snag a spot or reserve parking ahead of time.

Food 🌭

Once you’re in the stadium — and have said a quick thanks to the air conditioning and closed roof gods — it’s time for the real game: Which concession line are you going to take on?

With options from alligator corndogs to brisket egg rolls, there’s something for everyone. Try this: the Boomstick — a three-pound, two-foot beef hotdog with chili, nacho cheese, jalapeños, and onions — washed down with a Beer Bat.

Activities ⚾

If your family is anything like City Editor Kate’s, after the snacks have been consumed, the kiddos are ready to go home. But you’re in luck, the new Oatly Wiffle Ball Park opened in early July to give kids a chance to hit their own home run + parents a view of the game from the top deck in center field.

In case you’ve never been to a Rangers home game, we’ll clue you in to — in our opinion — the best part of the game: belting “Deep in the Heart of Texas” while trying not to spill your drink during the middle of the 5th inning. Are you a baseball traditionalist? Don’t worry, they still sing “Take me out to the Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch.

If the baseball game or the Golden Chick Dot Race isn’t enough action for you, explore these other in-game experiences.

After the game — that hopefully had lots of home run fireworks — one of the best fan experiences is still to come. Line up behind Section 125 on the main concourse to run the bases after any regular season Sunday game. There are still five chances to slide into home this season.

Not ready to go home? Head across the plaza to Texas Live (1650 E. Randol Mill Rd.) and round out the evening with a beer + live music. Check out the schedule for a summer full of music.

Who’s on first 🧢

The Rangers are on the road for the rest of the month + will return to Arlington on Mon., Aug. 1 to take on the Baltimore Orioles at 7 p.m. Don’t miss the action as they line up against the Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners + Los Angeles Angels in the coming weeks. Catch it all on Bally Sports Southwest.
