🐾 Adoptable pets in Fort Worth

We’d would be lying if we said we weren’t a little teary-eyed writing this up. Here are three adoptable pets in Fort Worth looking for their forever homes.
  • RJ Jr. | Three-year-old mixed breed
  • Yams | Two-month-old Siberian husky/mix
  • Jelly Bean | One-month-old domestic shorthair
Once you have your new best friend, take your dog (or cat — we won’t judge) to one of FTW’s pet-friendly businesses. Then, send us a pic so we can add them to our pets of FTWtoday.

News Notes

FTW-dickson-road

“Take it Easy” at this lakeside property.

Mansion Monday

Cozy vibes. A 4,200-sqft log cabin is for sale on Eagle Mountain Lake. After a long day of boating, take the terraced concrete stairway up to grill up some burgers in your outdoor kitchen. Fun fact — this home is down the street from a property where The Eagles used to go to cool off. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Eat

Baseball season is officially in full swing. Check out these new foods at Globe Life Field, including a chicken tender helmet, an edible sombrero, and a churro helmet sundae. We’ve come such a long way from the original ballpark nachos. (The Dallas Morning News)

List

And speaking of baseball. WFAA’s Scoop Jefferson shared the list of every Texas Rangers player’s walk-up song. Some you may have heard before, but others are pretty surprising. What would be your walk-up song?

Concert

Bluegrass singer Billy Strings will strum his way through Fort Worth this December. Tickets are now on sale for the show at Dickies Arena.

Sports

TCU has extended Head Coach Sonny Dykes’ contract. Though the full details are not known yet, we do know this is his second contract extension since Gary Patterson’s reign. The team’s first home game is Saturday, Sept. 12. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Try This

If “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” hitting theaters this week stirs up gaming nostalgia, head to a local arcade. Cidercade powers up the experience with 275 arcade games, including retro classics — no cheat codes necessary.

Jobs

The process is super easy and far more cost-effective than using a recruiter.” That’s what one business owner said about hiring through our Job Board. See for yourself — post your open positions for free.

The Wrap

The results of the 2026 Cowtown Great American Cleanup are in. Over 3,800 volunteers registered, from soloists to organized groups. More than 1,850 tires were disposed of properly in the Scrap Tire Collection. And over 20 participants competed in the Trashion Fashion Show. See the winning designs. If you missed this year’s cleanup, there are two more upcoming chances to get dirty.
