The $1.7 billion, 37-acre Westside Village officially broke ground last week. The first phase is set to be complete by 2030 and the city has promised to provide $80 million in grants to the developers over the next 15 years. (Fort Worth Inc.)

The US Navy is set to decommission the USS Fort Worth in San Diego, CA on Wednesday, July 29. Officials say they’re retiring the ship due to the cost of maintenance. It was first launched into service in Galveston in 2012. (Fort Worth Report)
