💬 A day in the life: Trail Boss edition

March is Women’s History Month, and if there’s one thing we want readers to know, it’s that Fort Worth has no shortage of female leaders in its community.

Enter Georgia Cartwright. Recently, FTWtoday sat down with the Head of the Fort Worth Herd, and asked her to walk us through a day in her life. Editor’s note: Answers have been edited for brevity.

Q: What kind of resume does a Trail Boss need?
A: You must have extensive knowledge of horses and cattle. You also have to have management, budgeting + leadership skills. It’s a unique role that takes a unique person.

Q: What is the best part of the job?
A: Every day’s the best day. I love it that much.

Q: For our subscribers only, where do you shop for outfits?
A: I’m a big fan of M.L. Leddy’s, Kimes Ranch jeans, and Double D Ranch. What I’m curious about from your readers is where to find “chic” Western apparel. I’m talking about one-of-a-kind, classic pieces with that Western uptown flair.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Elizabeth Hastings

I couldn’t sit down with Georgia and not take a selfie. I mean, she’s basically Cowtown royalty, yes? Do you think she’d sign my Stockyards brochure? We caught up at Fort Worth Coffee Co., and we both ordered the Raspberry Cream Latte. Please help me help my new BFF by recommending your favorite clothing store.
