March is Women’s History Month, and if there’s one thing we want readers to know, it’s that Fort Worth has no shortage of female leaders in its community.
Enter Georgia Cartwright. Recently, FTWtoday sat down with the Head of the Fort Worth Herd, and asked her to walk us through a day in her life. Editor’s note: Answers have been edited for brevity.
Q:What kind of resume does a Trail Boss need? A: You must have extensive knowledge of horses and cattle. You also have to have management, budgeting + leadership skills. It’s a unique role that takes a unique person.
Q: What is the best part of the job? A: Every day’s the best day. I love it that much.
Q: For our subscribers only, where do you shop for outfits? A: I’m a big fan of M.L. Leddy’s, Kimes Ranch jeans, and Double D Ranch. What I’m curious about from your readers is where to find “chic” Western apparel. I’m talking about one-of-a-kind, classic pieces with that Western uptown flair.
Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Festival is coming to the Toyota Music Factory this summer. Joining him will be Wilco, Sheryl Crow, and Stephen Wilson, Jr., among others. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, March 27. (CultureMap Fort Worth)
Arts
The ninth annual Keller Arts Festival — previously known as Keller Art Walk — is returning Saturday, April 11, after being postponed last fall. Enjoy a day full of kids’ activities, artworks, live music, food trucks, and vendors. Admission is free. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
Shop
The first-ever Segway prototype — codenamed “Ginger” — is up for auction with a starting bid of $10,000. Psst — Downtown Fort Worth Segway Tours go for much cheaper.
Coming Soon
Another restaurant will open in Arlington very soon, ahead of baseball season and the World Cup. The brainchild of barbecue pitmaster Brandon Hurtado, Loma TXMX will open next month on the western front of Choctaw Stadium and will serve contemporary Tex-Mex. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

We caught up at Fort Worth Coffee Co., and we both ordered the Raspberry Cream Latte. Please help me help my new BFF by recommending your favorite clothing store.
