Starter your engines. Sourdough is at an all-time high for popularity, according to Google Trends, and so is interest in making your own. And yes, it’s somehow even more popular than it was in 2020.

If you’re among those baking their way to some new habits and hobbies via flour and yeast, here are a few ways to get in on the action in Fort Worth.
  • Conundrum Farms is teaching beginners how to go from no idea to dough idea with their comprehensive class series. There is one happening Saturday, Jan. 25.
  • There’s also a bunch of class options on Cozymeal, where local accredited bakers offer their expertise. Heads up: These can sell out fast.
For those who prefer to leave their sourdough making to the experts, you can’t go wrong at The Sour Boule, Thyme & Dough Co., or The Village Bakery to find a scrumptious loaf. While you’re there — from our experiences — the apron-laden are usually willing to offer some friendly advice for beginner bakers eager to learn more.

Can you come up with a better one?

Today Is

National Coffee Break Day, a reminder to partake in one of the country’s favorite pastimes — stepping away from your desk to grab a cup of joe. Fortunately, Panther City has no shortage of choices.

Eat

A new spot has opened in the former Vice Burgers space. Sweet Stacks is dishing out souffle-style Japanese pancakes, matcha, and other Asian specialties like Laotian spicy sausage and spicy basil spaghetti. It’s a small space, so expect to-go containers. (CultureMap Fort Worth)

Arts

Like magic — “Harry Potter: The Exhibition,” at Pepper Square in Dallas has extended through Sunday, April 12, due to popular demand following its October opening. See what to look forward to.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Elizabeth Hastings

Last week, I attended the Fort Worth Chamber’s 2026 Economic Impact Forum: The Power of Sports in Fort Worth. Three panels explored how local sports have shaped the city’s economy, plus how they’ll help drive a record-breaking year alongside the FIFA World Cup. More takeaways coming soon.
