Monopoly Deal | $7.99 | This fun + family-friendly gift is a fast-paced version of the classic Monopoly board game.
Three pounds of really good salt | $49.95 | This one is sure to get some strange looks, but its silliness and sheer practicality might make it the most memorable gift at the party.
An extra special espresso machine, a smokeless outdoor fire pit, and a Nintendo Switch 2. Those are all gifts featured in Forbes’ vetted list of 100 excellent presents for this holiday season. We think they’d be even better under a tree at this recently listed Crestline Area mansion.
Sports
Last week, the Dallas Cowboys dominated the field at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day, securing a win over the Chiefs 31-28. What impressed us even more was how fast it took teams to construct and deconstruct the halftime stage. WFAA’s Sandra Turner reposted a time-lapse.
Holiday
For Thanksgiving, 90,000+ fans filled AT&T Stadium to enjoy a massive holiday feast — Dallas Cowboys chefs served meals made with produce from Paul Quinn College’s organic farm — an event planned over months to honor a cherished tradition. (CBS News Texas)
Mailbag
Last week, we asked readers what they’re thankful for and one reader’s response stuck out to us the most. She wrote, “I moved out of Fort Worth to a rural part of DFW last year, and this newsletter keeps me feeling connected to the city I grew up in and miss terribly. I’m grateful for this daily reminder of the fun things Fort Worth has to offer.”
Kids
$22,672. That’s the annual cost of raising a child in Texas in 2025, according to new data from Visual Capitalist. But when it comes to family fun, the best things in life are still free — including these 10 no-cost activities across Fort Worth.
Plan Ahead
The tiny island nation of Curaçao recently became the smallest-ever country to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, boasting a population of just 156,000 people. The group stage draw will take place in Washington, DC on Friday, Dec. 5, but we can’t wait to get a taste of the action in DFW next summer. (AP News)
On This Day
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat in Montgomery, Alabama, leading to her arrest. It was an act of bravery now considered one of the pivotal moments in the Civil Rights Movement. Chorizo cilantro cornbread stuffing. That was my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner at my sister’s last week. I was having too much fun to capture most of the day, but I did snag a couple of snapshots. First is our dinner spread at my sister’s house, and second is a family photo at Martin House Brewing — a Thanksgiving family tradition. Plus, we got the cutest, fluffiest photobomber.
