📁 Bartender confidential
Who am I? That’s a secret we’ll never tell. XOXO.
A lot has changed about the Fort Worth bar scene over the last 20 years. Establishments have come and gone like the wind — some shutting down before you can even say, “another round, please.” RememberLola’s, anyone?
We sat down with the head bartender at one of FTW’s most popular bars — someone with 22 years in the industry — and asked them to give us the inside scoop on the current state of the city’s bar scene.
Editor’s note: Verbiage has been edited for brevity.
Q: How has the industry changed within the last 20 years? A: Consumers have learned a lot. They want to know what’s going into their food and their drinks. Everyone is now more concerned with what they’re putting in their bodies as well as ‘if I’m gonna spend my money on this, I want it to be worth it.’
Fort Worth’s Parade of Lights has been postponed. It was originally scheduled for this Sunday, Nov. 23, but has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 30 due to potential inclement weather.

Sundance Square’s Simply Fondue is dipping out. And by that, we mean moving across downtown. The restaurant is eyeing a spot on the ground floor of a parking garage across from the convention center. Stay tuned for an official move and opening date. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

If you are part of the 49% of readers who guessed 1997 — you were correct.
Then, we quizzed readers on which artist has not performed a Red Kettle Kickoff halftime, and that threw the majority off. Jessica Simpson, Eric Church, and Selena Gomez are among the artists who have performed during the halftime show. Pitbull has not — though we’d pay to see him. Just 20% got that right.
