A message from our team

It’s 6AM somewhere — in fact, if you’re reading this at 8 a.m. local time, it’s 6 a.m. in our sister market SEAtoday. Which brings us to our main point: Did you know there are newsletters just like FTWtoday across the country, providing the same need-to-know local news and events for their communities?

From sharing live music venues in Portland, OR to reporting on new developments in Greenville, SC, our company works hard to be local, everywhere. Support our mission.

🍔 New foods at Christmas in the Garden

This year, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is revamping its annual holiday light display Lightscape with Christmas in the Garden. Except this year, the garden will be brighter and more festive than ever. This event opens Friday, Nov. 21 and runs through Sunday, Jan. 4, with tickets starting at $20 for adults.

Christmas in the Garden will feature a one-mile illuminated walking trail, multiple light displays, plus Santa Claus will be there every night through Christmas Eve to meet, greet, and take photos.

Have we mentioned the food yet? This year, four new local vendors will be there with snacks. Here’s what we’re most excited to try:
  • Grilled beef sliders from JD’s Hamburgers
  • Buttered corn on the cob from Westland Hospitality
  • A brie box from Margie’s Italian Gardens

Answered

Last week, we asked our readers where in Fort Worth this picture was taken.

FTW_mystery_place

True foodies might know the location of downtown’s newest rooftop destination.

Photos by FTWtoday

If you answered Nikuya Rooftop — or something along those lines — you were correct. The rooftop sushi restaurant and cocktail bar opened up this month on top of the Sinclair Hotel, replacing the former Roof Top Bar.

Editor Elizabeth here. I tried out this new spot last week with my sister. If you’re planning on going, just see a member of hotel staff to scan you through the elevator. I recommend either the Golden Bite or Cowboy Kiss makimono rolls.

Shoutout to these readers for getting it right: Kelly B., Sarah N., Devan P., Sue B., Megan D., Scott F., Erin W., Makayla Z., David R., and Meg T.

The Wrap

Do you remember this story? That was one of my favorite days “in the office.” Not only did I get to meet and talk with the famous actor John Wayne’s eldest granddaughter, but I felt so proud to represent 6AM City, be a Fort Worthian, and publish that story for you. Readers like you inspire me to keep finding hyper-local, positive content, and if you love what I do, let me know through our giving campaign.
