Like a good neighbor, Fort Worth is there. Texas may not be the Volunteer State (Tennessee holds that title), but we’re proud to be friendly Fort Worthians.
With food insecurity affecting many residents, we’re highlighting a few places you can donate resources or your time.
Taste Project | The nonprofit offers unlimited volunteer opportunities for a lifetime. Lend a hand on either the kitchen, welcome, or service teams.
GRACE | The Grapevine-based nonprofit sent out a statement last week requesting food and monetary donations. It also posted an Amazon Wish List full of items needed that can be bought and shipped to its headquarters.
Roanoke Food Pantry | The group has plenty of volunteers, but is seeking assistance within its “Needs” committee. For more info, visit the pantry or call 817-491-4451.

Dallas County has granted the North Texas Food Bank — which serves Tarrant County as well — $1 million. The money will go towards staples such as produce, beans, pasta, rice + more. (The Dallas Morning News)

Fort Worthians, nominate your neighborhood for Mayor Mattie Parker’s 2025 Community Engagement Neighborhood Awards. Last year’s winning neighborhood was Como. Submissions are open now until Friday, Jan. 16.

Flyers arriving at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport this weekend experienced hours-long security lines, with videos showing packed terminals going viral.
