News Notes

Plan Ahead

Get ready — The Christmas capital of Texas is bringing the fun again this year with brand new activations at Hotel Vin and Harvest Hall. Begin the celebration with Winter Wonderland Bubbles and a Pendleton shopping experience from Friday, Nov. 14 to Saturday, Feb. 14. Start making reservations.

Opening

On Monday, Oct. 27, Cork & Pig Tavern at Willow Park will open. Try entrees such as the wood-fired black truffle pizza or the prime rib dip. Brunch will launch Saturday, Nov. 1. This also serves as your reminder that the shopping center’s Lucchese Live & Local Series ends on Friday, Nov. 14.

Outdoors

For one day only next month, Texas state park admission is free. Get outdoors for Texas State Parks Day on Sunday, Nov. 2. Online reservations are encouraged to access the state’s 85 parks. Tip from the editor — FTW’s nearest park is Cleburne State Park.

Sports

Dickies Arena will once again become the stage for the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in April 2026. The semifinal round takes place on Thursday, April 16, when we find out which two teams will make it to the finals on Saturday, April 18. Secure your spot starting at $90.

Biz

The Fort Worth Library will host two free workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs. On Wednesday, Nov. 19, join author Eric Hamilton via Zoom as he walks you through go-to-market strategies. The next day, join author Amber Royer in person for how to streamline creative processes.
This week, the Dallas Mavericks “gave proof through the night that our Flagg was still there.” A new Mavericks game-day tradition is catching on — fans are yelling “Flagg” during the National Anthem to honor star rookie Cooper Flagg. WFAA’s Paul Livengood shared a clip so you’ll know what to do next time.

Listen

And speaking of Flagg. The rookie’s exciting debut on the court wasn’t enough for the team to pull through. What caused the Dallas Mavericks to lose 125-92? Local experts reveal the flaws during Locked On’s latest podcast episode. Catch the team again tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Tech

That “unknown number” isn’t random — it’s someone who bought your data. Scammers use it for phishing, impersonation, and worse. Incogni fights back by wiping your info from the web and keeping it gone. They can’t scam who they can’t find.*
