News Notes

Mansion Monday

This mid-century modern home wrapped in stacked stone is for sale in Bellaire Estates. Whether you favor lush views or architectural history, this single-story, four-bedroom is just right. Check the price tag.

Holiday

Sundown tonight marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah. The celebration runs until sundown on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Celebrate the new year by sending your loved ones a bouquet from local florist Gracie Floral.

Number

231,000. That’s the estimated number of farms in Texas, according to a new study by Visual Capitalist. Support local growers and eat farm-to-table by shopping at one of Fort Worth’s farmers markets this weekend.

The Word

Pumpkin spice. You know it, you love it, and according to Google, this seasonal blend is being searched more now than ever before. Whether you’re looking for a classic PSL or something more unique, get your autumnal beverage fix at these FTW coffee shops.

Family

$8,912. That’s how much a family of four can expect to spend on average for a seven-night trip to Walt Disney World, including meals, park tickets, and overnight accommodations on property. Vacation not in the cards this year? Free family fun awaits with these Panther City activities. (NerdWallet)

Eat

Talk about taking the cake. Koffeteria in Houston was crowned the best bakery in Texas by The Takeout. Luckily, you don’t knead to go that far for delicious baked goods — Fort Worth’s bakery scene is pretty sweet, too.

Watch

We’re just four days away from the 2025 State Fair of Texas. WFAA’s Paul Livengood shared a time-lapse of Big Tex assuming his position in Fair Park of Dallas.

Texas A&M stunned Notre Dame in 41-40 thriller. Are the Aggies now legitimate playoff contenders? Get the latest news, analysis, and insider information for the Texas A&M Aggies with Locked On’s daily, team-focused podcasts.
Athleta’s Friends + Family Sale just dropped — find pieces that take you from early morning workouts to weekend coffee runs with 30% off the whole site (yes, everything).*

Asked

We’re back with another edition of: Where is this in Fort Worth?

You could’ve passed this on your drive home from work.

Look — another mansion. Fort Worthians might recognize this home, but not from Zillow. Can you guess its whereabouts? We’ll accept the street name or the official title of the home.

Hint — there’s a clue somewhere in this newsletter.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Elizabeth Hastings

Last week, I created my first terrarium at Ephemera! The instructor Matt was super nice (and hilarious). I got a medium-sized bubble bowl for $35 — which includes the cost of one plant + cost of decorations, depending on size (final total: $42). It was an excellent friend activity — and a great alternative to the usual dinner or drinks.
