The Fort Worth Zoo just keeps breaking its own record. Last October, it released 617 Texas Horned Lizards into the wild, continuing its 14-year fight against the animal’s extinction. This Thursday, the conservation team will release another 700 to 800 at the Mason Mountain Wildlife Management Area.
A spokesperson for the zoo says they’ve event identified offspring around its release site — which can only mean the conservation project is headed in the right direction.
