Today’s pick? Driving in silence. ICYMI — the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) announced its plan to tackle excessive noise downtown. The Downtown Noise Reduction Effort will address extreme vehicle noise that violates the city ordinance 23-8 during all hours of the day. These noises address deliberate engine revving, modified exhausts, and excessive sound systems.
The initiative — which has already gone into effect — brings new changes downtown, including signage, providing a reminder that excessive noise is not allowed, and increased FWPD patrols. Where should the FWPD tackle noise next?

Our local food scene is as vibrant as ever, so it’s no surprise there is a slew of local chefs serving up fresh, vegetarian bites across town. From plant-based pizza to scrumptious vegan tacos, here are 15 restaurants serving up meat-free fare in Cowtown. Pizza Verde | After its May announcement that said it would be closing, the owners of this vegan pizzeria came back this month to say they’ve found new equity partners and are hiring for all positions. The vegan shop serves up an inclusive menu with dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free options, including house-made, nut-based mozzarella.
Righteous Foods | We recommend trying the organic açaí bowl topped with house-made granola, bananas, and mixed berries. Add a salty sidekick with warm yucca fries.
