Fort Worth-born businessman and philanthropist Morton Meyerson died this week at the age of 87. Meyerson was known for collaborating with Ross Perot + for paying $10 million for naming rights to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. He died from cancer. (The Dallas Morning News)

The Fort Worth Chamber has announced its recipient of the 2025 Vandergriff Award. Texas Health Resources will be honored at the annual “State of the County” luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Hilton Fort Worth. The award was established in memory of the late Tarrant County Judge Tom Vandergriff to recognize organizations that conduct business with integrity and positively impact Tarrant County on a national scale.
