This Saturday, July 26 is the National Day of the American Cowboy — a day that honors the contributions of cowboys and cowgirls to American culture and heritage.

Today, to honor all the American cowfolk of our past and present, we wrangled up our tips and tricks on becoming one so you, too, can celebrate — and be celebrated.

Step 1: What to wear

Every good cowboy and cowgirl knows the proper uniform: hat, boots, and belt. For your hat — AKA your crown — visit The Best Hat Store. From felt hats to straw ones, The Best Hat Store can shape your pick to your preference.

Step 2: What to do

To compete in this day and age, you’re going to need a lot more than the right get-up. Consider taking riding lessons at Benbrook Stables.

Step 3: Where to go

We recommend starting at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame or the National Cowgirl Museum to familiarize yourself with the successful cowboys and cowgirls who came before you.

How do you follow a record-setting year? By getting stronger.

Take Pacaso. Their real estate co-ownership tech set records in Paris and London in 2024. No surprise. Coldwell Banker says 40% of wealthy Americans plan to buy abroad within a year, so Pacaso’s planned Italy expansion is big.

They’ve already made $110 million+ in gross profits to date, including 41% YoY growth last year. (They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.) And you can invest for $2.90/share.

Post of the Day

Editor Elizabeth here — and yes, this is an extremely accurate depiction of me anytime I come within five feet of a Texas Twinkie from Roy Hutchins BBQ.

How hilarious is it that the local barbecue restaurant took that now-infamous moment between two secret lovebirds and turned it into a meme? Well played, Roy Hutchins. Now I’m just waiting to see which Fort Worth biz jumps on the trend next.

Oh yeah — and if you’ve never had a Texas Twinkie before, I highly suggest you get your hands on one as soon as you can — err, respectfully.

The Wrap

I couldn’t resist sharing today’s Post of the Day. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram did some extra digging to find out if it is legal in Texas to date a coworker or supervisor. It is, in fact, perfectly legal. Currently, no state law bans workplace relationships between bosses and employees, but it’s often required that you disclose the relationship with HR. That way, you don’t accidentally find yourself in a love triangle with someone’s spouse.

There are currently no regulations about having a love affair with a Texas Twinkie either, and for that, we’re grateful.
