Nothing sticks with you like your first job, whether it was stocking shelves at a grocery store, working a fast-food drive-thru, or running errands as an office assistant.

Wherever you worked, we want to hear about your job memories.
  • What was your favorite part of the first place you worked?
  • Did that job lead to any opportunities down the road?
  • Do you still work there today?
For City Editor Elizabeth, her first job was everybody’s dream. She was a sales associate for a candy kiosk in the mall. She spent four years during college scooping chocolates, gummies, and candy-roasted nuts — and yes, she took home samples daily.

The Wrap

I don’t have any pictures from my candy store days, but imagine rows and rows of triple-dipped chocolate-covered malt balls, melt-in-your-mouth praline pecans, sweet and salty kettle corn, sour gummy rainbow strips, and more. We even had chocolate-covered bacon at one point.
