Summer is right around the corner, and Fort Worth schools are sending their students off with summer reading assignments — but we’re not letting adults off the hook.
Here’s your official summer reading list, but don’t worry, they’re just suggestions + you won’t be quizzed.

It’s the end of an era for Hoppin’ Fort Worth. The brewery, with its 58 self-pour taps and full cocktail bar, will close its doors after Saturday, May 31. Hoppin’ Grapevine, which is owned by another local family, will remain operational.

Take a walk around Sundance Square, and you’ll see a new bronze sculpture occupying a chair outside of Hopscotch. It’s the work of artist Hugh Hayden, who’s known for his last installation in Sundance Square, “Brier Patch.” The display draws inspiration from John Quincy Adams Ward’s 1863 “The Freedman.”
