News Notes

Concert

German composer Hans Zimmer, known for scoring musical works for “Dune,” “Interstellar,” and 500+ others, is headed out on tour and is stopping by Cowtown. Zimmer will appear at Dickies Arena on Monday, Sept. 29. Tickets are available now. (CultureMap Fort Worth)

Plan Ahead

Celebrate John Wayne Day from Saturday, May 24 to Monday, May 26 at “John Wayne: An American Experience.” Enjoy a variety of events in honor of “The Duke’s” 118th birthday, like daytime activations, a wine dinner, or Memorial Day coffee with the Waynes. Tickets start at $23.

Eat

Spice Wing is coming to Keller this month and will open in the former Subway restaurant on Beach Street. The Georgia-founded restaurant specializes in chicken wings and tenders + features 19 sauces and rubs. A Fort Worth location is also in the works, but the opening date is TBA. Announced

Three months after stepping down from his city manager position, David Cooke is stepping into a new role. Cooke has been appointed to lead management over Sundance Square. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more. Until then, brush up on happenings in and around downtown. (Fort Worth Report)

Transit

Driveless Ubers are headed to North Texas and will launch in Arlington first. The transportation app is partnering with May Mobility to try and deploy autonomous vehicles (AV) by the end of this year. Other rideshare apps like Lyft are looking to operate AVs in DFW, too. (The Dallas Morning News)

Coming Soon

Fort Worth’s Brewed is opening its third location in DFW and second in the DFW Airport. By early 2026, you can stop by for a candy bar latte in Terminal E. The location won’t serve Brewed’s full brunch menu, but instead will act as a boutique-style coffee spot. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Travel

And speaking of DFW Aiport. The future Terminal F will be bigger than anticipated. American Airlines and the airport have increased investments in the project, totaling $4 billion. Construction is underway for the sixth terminal’s 31 gates + is projected to be completed by 2027. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Mansion Monday

Look at this Mediterranean-style four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence located in Mira Vista. This home boasts a vanishing edge pool, an upstairs wet bar, and multiple outdoor living spaces — two with fireplaces. It’s one of several homes available through local firm LEAGUE Real Estate.
WFAA morning news anchor Marc Istook shared a clip of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott speaking to students at Aledo High School about mental health and the importance of promoting positivity on social media.
