Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 | Saturday, May 3

This 200-lap, 300-mile NASCAR Xfinity Series race kicks off at 12.:30 p.m. Grandstand tickets start at $44, or you can buy a weekend pass ticket for access to the WÜRTH 400 and the SpeedyCash.com 250.

Holley LS Fest Texas | Friday, May 16-Saturday, May 17

Skilled drivers from all over the world will compete on the track during events like drifting, drag racing, burnout wars, and autocross + there’s an LS car show. Fans can purchase tickets for as low as $30 + children 16 and under are free.

Laps for Charity | Saturday, June 7

Experience the thrill of driving yourself. For $60, cruise your car around the race track three times. Proceeds go towards Speedway Children’s Charities, benefiting kids battling illness or facing adversity at home or in school. Register online.

Concert

Country music artist Jelly Roll is set to perform at Billy Bob’s Texas on Tuesday, May 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets — starting at $125 — are available now. And remember, the last time Jelly Roll performed in Cowtown, he was spotted at Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room shortly after. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

After an international search, DFW Airport has announced a new CEO Chris McLaughlin. McLaughlin will assume the role on Monday, May 19, following the retirement of current CEO Sean Donohue’s, who held a 40-year aviation career.

Opening

Hot diggity dog — another Portillo’s is headed to north Fort Worth. The 62-year-old Chicago-style hot dog chain will open its second FTW location in the Tanger Outlet Mall. Construction has yet to begin, but when it does, it’s projected to take five months. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

A home for the modern visionary. Built in 1972, this four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is for sale in Crestline. It features a lush courtyard and rooftop garden + is near some of Fort Worth’s popular restaurants like Kincaid’s Hamburgers and Lucile’s.

Last week, Trinity Habitat for Humanity, Bank of America, and Opal Lee held a dedication event, celebrating the first home constructed under the Opal Lee 100 Legacy Home. The initiative aims to build 100 homes for hard-working families across Fort Worth. Enjoy photos from the event.
