The next time you travel through Terminal C at DFW Airport, look for Gizmo. Fort Worth-based coffee shop Ampersand has teamed up with Hestia Robotics and Southlake-based RobotLAB to bring DFW Airport its first robotic coffee maker.
Gizmo’s shift began on Monday, April 7, near Gate C35. He’s a Coffee Robot C1 PRO, which means he’s awesome. He has the quickest preparation speed of any model of his kind, boasts a doubled cup capacity, and offers 27 signature drinks, including tea. Customers order from a touchscreen attached to the kiosk, and within minutes, their order will be available for pickup from one of three windows.
Ampersand CEO Toan Luong will continue to partner with RobotLAB to bring robotic coffee delivery straight to customers’ gates by 2026. Unlike Gizmo, these robotic coffee delivery agents will operate on the same schedule as human baristas — 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
So, the next time you’re jetsetting to a new destination, stop by Gizmo for a pick-me-up.
