Founded 75+ years ago, TCU Press is an independent bookstore and the only publishing house located in Fort Worth. Within walking distance from the university, TCU Press specializes in works about Texas or written by Texan authors. It offers children’s books, memoirs, fiction and non-fiction titles — even books in Spanish. Additionally, TCU Press has its own collection of Elmer Kelton novels — one of the top Western writers.

TCU Press is a yearly participant at Austin’s Texas Book Festival — the biggest book event in Texas. It also hosts its annual holiday book sale in December. Follow them on Instagram to stay updated on all events.

City Market, a family-owned grocery store in Burleson, is closing its doors after an eviction notice. Owners Kurt and Jill Jaegar — who opened the store in 2004 — first announced the closure via Facebook. Shop 20% off until its last day in business on Friday, Feb. 21. (WFAA)

Fort Worth approved the conversion of an abandoned golf course to a collection of stores, apartments, and single-family homes. More construction is coming to University Drive. In 2026, a new set of improvements will include a new asphalt surface over 280,000 sqft of road, 6-ft sidewalks on the west side between Trail Drive and Rock Springs Road + a new concrete bus pad. (Fort Worth Report)
