🐎 Saddle up — it’s rodeo time

Get your best Western outfits ready because the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is just around the corner. From Friday, Jan. 17 to Saturday, Feb. 8, the city will be jam-packed with rodeo events, live music, and good food. Here’s what you need to know.

🐎 All-Western Parade

The festivities will kick off on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. with the world’s largest All-Western Parade. More than 10,000 spectators are expected to gather as 2,000 horses, stagecoaches, equestrian troops, and marching bands make their way through downtown.

🎡 Carnival Midway

Take a break from the show and play your favorite carnival games outside at the fairgrounds. There’s plenty of family-friendly entertainment including cattle and livestock shows, petting zoos, Midway rides, shopping, and classic carnival food. A rodeo ticket includes day-of fairground access.

🎟️ Tickets

Tickets for adults are $15, kids ages 6-16 are $8, and children under 5 are free.

Mansion Monday

Coming Soon

A new Florida-based Indian restaurant will be opening in late January. Tabla Indian Restaurant will occupy the space previously known as Spice 8 Indian Fusion located in the Shops of North Tarrant. It will be the first Tabla location outside of Florida and will feature various Asian cuisines. (CultureMap Fort Worth)

Eat

Welcome back The Post. Last week, the gone-but-not-forgotten restaurant and music venue announced its return to Cowtown. The Post — which was previously located in Rivereast — will be reopening next month near West 7th St. neighboring Birdie’s Social Club. An exact opening date has not been released yet.

Biz

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has upgraded the headquarters to his upstart United Football League by signing a 111,000-sqft lease near Ballpark Circle. The deal is the largest that Tarrant County has seen in the last two years. The new offices will host administrative and operational activities. (Dallas Business Journal)

Shop

City editor Elizabeth here and my inner teenager is screaming. Abercrombie & Fitch is coming back to Cowtown for the first time since 1995. Construction is set to wrap in June when the fashion retailer will then occupy a 5,200-sqft space in University Park Village. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
What is next for Mike McCarthy? Despite McCarthy’s contract with the Dallas Cowboys expiring Tuesday, Jan. 14, the team denied the Chicago Bears’ request to interview him. WFAA sports anchor Mike Leslie has the latest.

Trinity Metro celebrated a record-breaking number when 103,312 riders used TEXRail last month. This has set the local train’s all-time high ridership — a 25% increase from December 2023. (The Business Press)

After 10 years of debate, City Council approved the amendment to ban game rooms and gaming machines. The ban goes into effect Tuesday, Jan. 21, and affects 850+ documented establishments across the city.
