Bring on the fall feels

When will it feel like autumn? Fort Worth’s fall weather forecast

A map of the United States that shows states in shades of orange, red, blue, or in white.

We know the question on your mind, Fort Worthians — is it going to stay cool? Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for September, October, and November.

While exact weather conditions typically can’t be predicted more than a week in advance, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what fall will bring. Reminder: The first day of fall is on Sunday, Sept. 22.

🌡️ Temperature
Think warm. This fall, Fort Worth has a 40-50% chance of temperatures being higher than normal.

🌨️ Precipitation
Expect slightly less precipitation. Fort Worth has a 33-40% chance of seeing below normal rainfall amounts this fall.

☀️ Drought
Drought removal, or no drought at all, is expected this season.

Sunny September
Typically in Panther City, September’s temperatures fluctuate between an average low of 70° and an average high of 89° — expect to see more of those near-90° days this year. That may seem warm, but remember that Fort Worth’s average high in August is 95°.

Agreeable October
In October, our average high and low temps are between 79° and 60°. It’s also one of our rainier months of the year, with an average of five days of rain and patchy cloud coverage. Use this month’s comfortable weather to enjoy local fall festivals.

Not so cold November
Historically, average highs in November drop about 11° to 68°, with an average low of 50°. November also tends to be one of the windiest months in Fort Worth, bringing in blustery winter breezes.
