City Council approved the purchase of 0.46 acres at 512 W. 4th St. to open a new downtown library branch. Site renovations could begin in early 2025.
Jobs
South Fort Worth will soon become home to an 800,000-sqft Dick’s Sporting Goods distribution center. Over the next 10 years, the center at Risinger/35 Logistics Park will create an anticipated 300 full-time jobs. (WFAA)

Blink Fitness announced that it will close all three of its Fort Worth-area locations after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The final day of operations for the three fitness centers will be Friday, Aug. 30. (WFAA)
Environment
Archaea Energy Services LLC will develop the site of a renewable natural gas facility at the Southeast Landfill. Facility construction will begin after Archaea Energy and the City of Fort Worth reach a service agreement.
Biz
City Council approved a tax incentive to expand engine maintenance and repair provider GE on Wing Support, Inc. The company plans to expand its current location near DFW International Airport into an adjacent 3.25-acre parcel.

Fifteen years after first appearing on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Fred’s Texas Cafe will soon be featured on Guy Fieri’s spinoff show, “Triple D Nation.” The episode will premiere on Food Network at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23. (The Dallas Morning News)

The 2024 Inc. 5000 list is out, and we’re breaking down the top 10 in Fort Worth that made the cut.
Cowtown’s claims to fame
Fort Worth-based BODYBAR Pilates — which now boasts 44 locations across the US — took the No. 276 spot, with 1,532% three-year revenue growth. The studio franchise founded in 2014 offers pilates classes for participants of any fitness level.
Local college telehealth service TimelyCare came in at No. 810 with 613% three-year revenue growth.
Regional growth
Over 200 companies in the DFW area made the list, including 134 repeat honorees and 12 newly founded businesses. As a whole, the metroplex experienced a 182% median growth rate, with 33,975 jobs added over the last three years.
