Fort Worth Bike Sharing has debuted a new set of bikes — and they’re wheely cool. Designed by local artist Gerald Bell, the 13 painted bikes are part of the #FWBikesy initiative.
Quick backpedal
The first two bikes — a seafoam green frame covered in flowers called “Pedal Pusher” and a sleek black bike called “Catnapper” — launched off the blocks in the fall of 2022.
Every couple months for the last year and a half, a new creation was put into circulation, dotting the 62 bike sharing stations with artistic two-wheelers.
The #FWBikesy bikes can be found at Fort Worth Bike Sharing stations around town.

Final lap
The thirteenth and final bike of the set — a cream-colored frame featuring fun fruits, entitled “Avocados (eat me)” — will be released during a closing show at Gallery 440 in the Near Southside.
Stop by on Thursday, March 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. during the newly returning Third Thursday art walk. Or attend the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association’s Spring Gallery Night on Saturday, March 23, 12-9 p.m. to see the bikes and grab limited-edition swag.
Plus, take in some of Bell’s other multi-media work, ranging from Andy Warhol-inspired screen prints to comic book-style creations to neon spray paint on linen.
Kick your spring fitness into gear with a ride on “Dear John.”

Keeping pace
The release of the final bike is no reason to downshift on this initiative. The colorful bikes have been integrated into the 370-bike fleet. If you spot one, hop on and snap a photo. Tag #FWBikesy to get a commemorative t-shirt from Fort Worth Bike Sharing.
Pro tip: This is a great way to participate in the local art scene, support small businesses + get creative. We suggest riding the white and pink “Baker’s Dozen” bike to Dreamboat Donuts in PS1200 + having a photo shoot with your plant-based treat and donut-covered transportation.
