Happy New Year, Fort Worthians. To start the year off on the right foot, we need a little help from you.

Every morning, more than 54,000 of you welcome us into your inbox. And each day, we do our very best to provide you with timely, relevant information so you can get the most out of the city we call home.

We’re asking you to take two minutes to tell us a little more about yourself because the more we know about who you are, the better we can deliver information that you care about. Just two minutes. Feel free to skip any questions you don’t want to answer. We don’t want to pry. (Okay, we do, but for a good reason.)

We’ll be selecting one lucky survey participant to win $500. We’re rooting for you, FTW.

Thanks in advance for your feedback,

Recycling your Christmas tree in Fort Worth

FTW-Tree Recycling-JAN

The holidays have come and gone — meaning it’s time to recycle your tree in Fort Worth (and we promise, it couldn’t be easier). Here’s how to recycle your real tree so it can achieve its destiny as biodegradable mulch in our city.

🗑️ Leave it curbside
If your real tree is under eight ft. tall, simply place it at the curb on your normal garbage pickup day. The tree must be removed from its stand without decorations, nails, plastic bags, or other wrappings.

Trees over eight ft. tall must be trimmed into sections. Do not place anything in a plastic bag.

🛻 Drop it off
The city gives you another option to drop your tree off. There are four drop-off stations open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

🎄 Artificial trees
All curbside pickup + drop-off information pertains to real trees only; if you need to dispose of an artificial tree, do so in your brown garbage cart for bulk waste collection.
