A new public art installation called “Seed the Future” will debut this Saturday, Dec. 9 at Trail Drivers Park. The steel structure by artist Karla Garcia is a reimagined dandelion with T-shaped clusters and a series of cattle horns. Two historic preservation projects in the Stockyards received recognition from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. Mule Alley is the 2023 recipient of a Public Space - Great Place in Texas and the Stockyards Horse and Mule Barn was honored with the 2023 Planning Landmark Award.
Pets
The city is taking a new approach when it comes to feral cats by collaborating with community nonprofits and residents. In 2024, the city will partner with Spay Neuter Network to provide additional community services. There will also be a larger focus on public education, volunteer management, and social media outreach.
