The Carter draws back on our Fort Worth roots, featuring free, world-class collections that feel like home in an architectural masterpiece by Phillip Johnson.
Monnig Meteorite Gallery, 2950 W. Bowie St.
Experience the solar system up close with this free, out-of-this-world exhibit on TCU’s campus. With nearly 3,000 samples, the gallery is one of the largest university-based collections in the world.

The cooking studio is located inside 3rd Street Market and hosts a variety of classes including a hands-on lesson perfecting steaks on Friday, Sept. 8. If you’d rather sit back and relax, sign up for Afternoon Tea on Sunday, Sept. 17.

A public meeting will be held next Thursday, Aug. 31 to discuss sewer relocations near North Henderson and Calvert Street. The relocation is related to the Central City Flood Project, which includes moving stormwater + utilities. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Tarrant Regional Water District office.

Roanoke’s Anderson Distillery & Grill is moving 16 miles northeast to Denton. According to a Facebook post, the restaurant at 400 S. Oak St. closed earlier this month and plans to reopen at 410 N. Bell Ave. in Denton in the fall. The distillery is known for its small-batch Texas spirits.

Concert

Richardson-based Golden Chick plans to open its eighth store in Fort Worth later this fall. The fast-food chain known for serving fried chicken, catfish, and sandwiches will be built at 8677 N. Beach St. near Arcadia Trail Park North.
Plan Ahead
It’s hard to believe it’s time to start planning for the holidays. Tickets are now available for street seats for the 2023 GM Financial Parade of Lights. This year’s downtown parade will take place on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $30.

🏈 Upgrades coming to Jerry World
AT&T Stadium plans $180 million renovation

AT&T Stadium in Arlington will undergo a $180 million renovation at the start of the new year.
According to a state filing, the AT&T Stadium Interior Refresh will begin in January and include:
Upgrades to premium clubs and suites
A refresh of its seven merchandise shops
The creation of more wellness spaces
Upgraded finishes and millwork.
Dallas-based firm HKS Inc. is listed as the design firm for the 575,000-sqft project. Construction should wrap up by the summer of 2025 and is not expected to impact upcoming events.
The 90,000-seat stadium — popularly known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys — will also be one of the 16 host sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ahead of the international soccer event, Jerry World will undergo another $295 million in upgrades to technology and back-of-the-house services. Other changes include raising + expanding the playing surface to meet FIFA regulations.
I’m usually the kind of person who loves the Texas summers, but this year’s heat wave has gotten the best of me. If I’m not cooped up in the AC, I’m usually soaking in some Vitamin D at the pool.
