Eating meat-free hasn’t always been easy, but in Fort Worth, it’s a piece of (vegan) cake.

Our local food scene is as vibrant as ever, so it’s no surprise there is a slew of local chefs serving up fresh, vegetarian bites across town. From plant-based pizza to scrumptious vegan tacos, here are 18 restaurants serving up meat-free fare in Cowtown.

Von’s Coffee Shopps, 3004 Cullen St. | Grab a specialty coffee or espresso and snack on a wide range of vegan options like the omelet made with plant-based Just Eggs and the roasted veggie soup.

Stir Crazy Baked Goods, 1251 W. Magnolia Ave. | Order vegan or gluten-free bakery items — like pies, cakes, and cupcakes — in advance, or stop by to try the vegan sausage rolls.

🍸 Date night

Maiden, 1216 6th Ave. | The brand new intimate fine dining experience features a full bar, a dozen tables, and daily four- and eight-course vegan-tasting menus.

Belenty’s Love Mexican Vegan Restaurant, 3516 Blue Bonnet Cir. | All your Tex-Mex favorites are made plant-based, with menu items like burritos, tacos, chilaquiles, empanadas, quesadillas, and enchiladas. There’s even a dessert menu with sopapillas and ice cream.

Compatible Delights, 4661 White Settlement Rd. | Located across from Trinity Trails, this food truck is open for dinner and serves BBQ macaroni bowls, fried rice, nachos, and cheeseburgers made with vegan protein.

Tickets are now on sale to see the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra perform eight original songs from the Disney animated film “Encanto.” “Disney’s Encanto in Concert Live to Film” will be at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium Friday, Dec. 15 + Saturday, Dec. 16 with award-winning songs like “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

No. 9. That’s what TCU’s Neeley School of Business ranked for the highest post-graduation earnings in the nation. Venture Smarter found that TCU business alumni make an average of $93,488 per year just four years after graduating. SMU was the only other Texas school that ranked in the top 10. Weatherford College is finalizing a donation of the Canyon West Golf Club from owners Richard and Nancy Stuart. The college said the golf course would allow potential instructional programs in turf management, culinary arts, and others. The course would also benefit the new women’s golf program. Feast your eyes on the State Fair of Texas’ first round of the Big Tex Choice Awards. This year’s competition drew 57 entries, with 36 semi-finalists chosen based entirely on the name, photo, and description. The first tasting will take place over the next few weeks before the 10 finalists are selected.

Santa’s coming — AT&T Performing Arts Center in Arlington will host Christmas in July with a fun-filled evening on Saturday, July 22. The free event includes two movie screenings, holiday-themed drinks, and photo ops with Santa.

All this talk about the new “Barbie” movie has me reminiscing about my old Barbie Dreamhouse.

Over the weekend, I rummaged through my parent’s attic to find the Barbies my sisters and I used to play with + I think it’s time we add a new one to our collection. I’m obsessed with the new Margot Robbie Western Cowgirl Barbie from Mattel.
