The Horned Frogs are taking the NFL — and California — by storm with eight selections in the 2023 Draft.
TCU topped both the Lone Star State and all 10 Big 12 universities. The local school was only two picks behind Alabama and Georgia, who each sent 10 players to the NFL. This year tied the program’s 1957 record when the draft was 30 rounds.
Let’s see where the Frogs are hopping:
Quentin Johnston | Los Angeles Chargers
The junior wide receiver and 2022 team captain was drafted in the first round, No. 21 overall.
Steve Avila | Los Angeles Rams
The senior offensive lineman and first-team All-American from Arlington was drafted in the second round, No. 36 overall.
Kendre Miller | New Orleans Saints
The junior running back rushed 1,399 yards and was drafted in the third round, No. 71 overall.
Dylan Horton | Houston Texans
The senior defensive end — who set the College Football Playoff record with four sacks against Michigan — was drafted in the fourth round, No. 109 overall.
Derius Davis | Los Angeles Chargers
The senior wide receiver holds TCU’s career record with five punt returns for touchdowns and was drafted in the fourth round, No. 125 overall.
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson | Los Angeles Rams
The senior cornerback is the holder of the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back and was drafted in the sixth round, No. 182 overall.
Dee Winters | San Francisco 49ers
The senior linebacker — who made seven tackles in the CFP semifinal — was drafted in the sixth round, No. 216 overall.
Max Duggan | Los Angeles Chargers
The senior quarterback, Davey O’Brien Award winner, and Heisman Trophy runner-up was drafted in the seventh round, No. 239 overall.
The Horned Frogs are headed coast to coast.

Meet the AirFly wireless audio transmitter, AKA your ticket to watching — and actually enjoying — the in-flight movie entertainment on your next trip.
AirFly eliminates the need for wired headphones by plugging into a headphone jack then connecting via Bluetooth to your earbuds or wireless headphones.
Reviewers have mentioned great sound quality — not to mention, you won’t have to humble yourself before your travel companions and ask for a spare pair of wired headphones (or use the cheap ones the airline passes out).
Bonus: Upgrade to the AirFly Duo to share audio between two pairs of headphones, or get the AirFly Pro for all that plus more audio options.
Today is the last day of early voting for the May 6 municipal elections. Double-check your polling location and preview a sample ballot before heading to the polls.

The final chapter of the Central Library is upon us. In a city council work session this afternoon, the library’s interim director Marilyn Marvin will present the closing schedule for the downtown branch.
The building at 500 W. Third St. was sold in December 2022 to Dart Interests, which is exploring options to demolish the building and build a mixed-use office and residence.
At the end of January, the building’s hours were reduced to five days per week and the public meeting rooms closed April 1.
Public programming, passport operations, and school field trips will conclude on Saturday, May 6. Visit the library and attend story times through Friday, June 30.
Staff, book storage, and distribution will relocate to the Service Center (8604 Camp Bowie W. Blvd.) and other library assets will be distributed to various locations. The city will relinquish its use of the building one year from the date of acquisition.
