The 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo wrapped up on Saturday and we’re heartbroken to see the fun go. But, we’re absolutely in love with the final day’s results — from staggering sales to local winners.
A cow named [Snoop] Dog 🐄
A 15-year-oldbroke records when her prize steer auctioned for $440,000 — $130,000+ more than last year’s champion. Sadie Wampler, representing the Randall County 4-H in the Texas Panhandle, beat nearly 1,500 contestants at the stock show with her Junior Grand Champion steer — a 1,343-lb black European Cross named “Snoop Dog.”
Graham Newsom, a 9-year-old from Olton, showed the Grand Champion Market Lamb. “Lil’ Wayne,” a medium-weight, medium-wool lamb, sold for $75,000, that Graham’s parents said they intend to save for his future.
A cowboy named Rocker 🔥
A 19-year-old from Weatherford is now the World No. 1 bareback bronc rider. Rocker Steiner — known for his white-hot riding, fiery red getup, and devil-may-care long hair — locked in $20,000 in prize money in the finals. Rocker earned a score of 90 on “Yippee Kibbitz.”
Does he look familiar? You may remember the third-generation cowboy from an episode of Paramount’s “Yellowstone” in 2020.
