It’s always special when your favorite artist releases new music, but nothing compares to watching them perform live.
Although concert announcements are still dropping every day, this year’s slate already appears to rival 2022’s with colossal pop, rock, R&B, and country tours on the horizon.
Here is a list of some of the most anticipated concerts that are sure to be hot tickets across the Fort Worth Dallas-metro.

Dallas-based Bluelofts Inc., plans to convert the 16-story Oil & Gas building on West 7th Street into high-rise apartments and retail. A spokesperson for the company said they plan to start construction this year and wrap up in two years. Features include a rooftop deck, fitness center, and a clubroom. 🏢 (The Dallas Morning News)
Biz
Last week, the city gave Forest Park Rides, Inc. a 90-day extension to get the miniature railroad working again. Back in October, the city gave the operator 60 days to fix issues with the train, which stopped running last spring. The company now has until March 27. 🚂 (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
Coming Soon
Goat & Vine Restaurant + Winery is set to open in Montgomery Plaza in the next few weeks. The upscale restaurant’s menu will feature pasta, steaks, California-sourced wines, and mocktails. Stay tuned for a grand opening date. 🍽️ (PaperCity Fort Worth)
Closing
Varsity Tavern in the West 7th District appears to be shutting its doors. Employees said an email was sent out last week about the establishment permanently closing on Jan. 2. There’s no official word from the bar and the website still remains active. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
Pets
The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection is now open for walk-in vaccines on Tuesdays. The nonprofit is also offeringfree rabies vaccines every Tuesday during January. Calling all “Yellowstone” and “1883” fans — now’s your chance to live out your Wild West dreams on the big screen.
Talent company Legacy Casting is now casting for extras on the spinoff series “1883: The Bass Reeves Story.” The Paramount+ series will center around Bass Reeves, a legendary lawman of the Wild West, who was the first Black US Marshal west of the Mississippi.
Legacy Casting is currently looking for Union and Confederate soldiers with fittings happening over the next two weeks. Filming will take place in Fort Worth, Glen Rose, and Weatherford during the last week in January.
Those interested must be between the ages of 16-50. The pay rate is $150 per day for 12 days. Email Legacy Casting if you’re interested.
Editor’s pick: How confident are you that TCU will win the big game tonight? Jim McIngvale — aka Mattress Mack — is laying it all on the line with a $3 million bet, according to Action Network. If he wins, he’ll rake in about $8 million.
Even better, Mack said if customers spend more than $3,000 on a mattress, he’ll double their money and give it back if the Frogs win.
