You’ve done your civic duty + it’s time to welcome our newest local and state officials. 🗳️

To recap: This year we cast votes to elect the Texas governor, US representatives, Tarrant County judges, clerks, and commissioners for Precincts No. 2 and 4, as well as a roster of other positions.

After a highly contested gubernatorial race, incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott (Rep.) will serve a third term.

As for the other races, we’re here to share the results of the elections called as of 10 p.m. last night. Say hello to the seven newly-elected or re-elected representatives who will serve Tarrant County residents in the US House of Representatives.

Here’s something pretty nifty about Cowtown that you may not know: about 60% of the paper money in the US is printed at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing on Blue Mound Road.

But that’s not all. Fort Worth is home to the biggest private Civil War collection. The Texas Civil War Museum is also the most comprehensive collection west of the Mississippi River.

In addition to extensive military memorabilia, the city features incredible works of art — by famous artists El Greco, Cezanne, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Matisse — at the Kimbell Art Museum.

Editor’s pick: French tennis player Caroline Garcia won the WTA Finals tournament alongside doubles team Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens at Dickies Arena on Monday.

The champions received silver trophies to add to their awards, while the runners-up — singles player Aryna Sabalenka and double team Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova — took home purple glass sculptures created by local artisans at SiNaCa Studios. 🎾
