The final piece of the campus 🧩

American Airlines’ new hospitality complex to open early 2023

A $250 million hotel at American Airlines’ corporate campus is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.

The hospitality complex — known as Skyview 6 — will serve as a place for airline trainees to stay while on campus. Other amenities include a fitness center, swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts + a ballroom where the company will host the annual State of the Airline meeting.

The hotel is replacing the airline’s old attendant hotel that was built back in the 1960s. It will serve as a training facility for crew members, pilots, and flight attendants. Currently, trainees are staying off-site and commuting, but officials hope the new facility will allow new hires to better integrate with the company’s 30,000 employees.

The 600-room hotel is the final piece of the $1 billion 300-acre Robert L. Crandall Campus located just a few miles south of DFW Airport’s southern entrance. The campus headquarters is made up of eight “Skyview” buildings with 8.3 miles of trails for employees to bike from building to building.

A new home for oneworld Alliance

Oneworld is moving its global headquarters from New York City to the Robert L. Crandall Campus in December. The new headquarters will enable the alliance to “tap into the significant aviation talent pool in the Lone Star State.”

Texas is currently ranked at the top in the country for the most air transportation jobs. Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said: “The robust air service that American and other oneworld carriers provide connects our region to the world, and that connectivity is part of what makes Fort Worth such an attractive place for businesses to invest and grow.
THE WRAP

Editor’s pick: All this pumpkin talk has me thinking about jack-o-lanterns and Halloween. If you’re hoping to have an original costume this year — maybe stay away from these North Texas Google trends. According to DFW NBC, the most popular costume searches for the area include Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Batman, cowboy, pirate, and dinosaur.

Now that we know what’s trending, we’re on the hunt to find the most original Cowtown-inspired costume ideas. Got any? Let us know what they are.
