Fort Worth-based workwear company Dickies is setting up a new headquarters, trading its historic warehouse at 509 W. Vickery Blvd. for a more central situation.

The No. 1 work apparel manufacturer — and official stylist of the State Fair of Texas’ mascot Big Tex — is planning to move to the top floor of the six-story building at 500 Taylor St., adjacent to The Tower, a 35-story residential skyscraper at 500 Throckmorton St.

According to a recent filing, the company will undertake a $4.5 million renovation of the 70,000-sqft space that tops an office building and parking garage. Dickies plans to complete its new headquarters in May.

The company has yet to announce if the current retail space on West Vickery Boulevard will remain open after the corporate relocation, but we’ll keep you updated on where to restock your everyday staples.
