We’ve been hearing a lot of talk about various downtown projects . From mixed-use spaces to residential high-rises, there’s no shortage of movement in the heart of the city. In case you skimmed over some of this groundbreaking news, we’re highlighting what the future of downtown could hold.

🔥 Hot on the market

XTO Building | 110 W. 7th St.

Irving-based hotel company Icon Lodging purchased the 11-story office tower (previously known as the Bob. R Simpson Building) last week. It was built in 1910 as the First National Bank and is expected to be turned into a hotel.

The Tower | 500 Throckmorton St.

The retail space inside the luxury mixed-use development is going up for auction next Tues., April 12-Thurs., April 14 with a starting bid of $5.5 million. The two-building development features 295 condominium units, 60% of vacant retail space + 440 parking spaces.

Central Library | 500 W. 3rd St.

The Fort Worth Public Library central branch is being sold for $100 million by the city. The three-story, 250,000 sqft space was built in the 1970s. According to the city , the buyer will also be required to help develop a new, modern library in downtown.

🏗️ Upcoming projects

Deco 969 | 969 Commerce St.

The 27-story luxury residential high-rise will be the first of its kind downtown + feature 300+ apartments and penthouses, a resort-style pool and spa, fitness center with a yoga studio, and coworking spaces. It’s expected to open in 2023.

The Public Market | 1400 Henderson St.

Soon to be known as The Harden at Public Market, the property will be turned into a senior living facility with 199 rooms, fitness center, coffee shop + a parking garage. The market was listed as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1980 and has sat vacant for nearly 20 years.
