The countdown continues for the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame’s highly anticipated 16,000-square-foot expansion, scheduled to open in November 2026.

Totalling $19 million in upgrades, the transformed space will feature a stunning new entrance facing the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth’s Cultural District, plus all-new installations, galleries, and decor.

🎠 New carousel + galleries

At the heart of the expansion is a fully functional custom carousel from the artisans at Barrango, which will be available to ride for guests of all ages.

But that’s just the start. Other improvements include:

  • Intricate bas-reliefs of running horses along the building’s exterior
  • New fashion gallery showcasing iconic Western wear and shifting styles
  • Curated photo gallery spotlighting powerful cowgirls throughout history
  • Enlarged event space that can host up to 250 guests for public + private events

✨ Elevated storytelling experience

This new expansion is all about furthering the Museum’s mission to honor and celebrate the women of the West, paying homage to the spirit and strength of these key figures in Western heritage.

Can’t wait to visit? Don’t worry: The Museum has remained open throughout construction, and ticket prices are even reduced until the expansion is complete.
