🎟️ Things to do
Historic Granbury Square
Located in Hood County, Granbury was founded by a Confederate Civil War general named Hiram B. Granbury. Granbury Square was Texas’s first downtown square on the National Historic Register. Today, you’ll find an abundance of coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, live entertainment, and bars.
Granbury Opera House
Back in 2012, this opera house underwent $3.5 million worth of renovations. Today, you can see renditions of famous productions such as “Hairspray,” “Singin’ In The Rain,” or “Annie.”
Doll House Museum
Located off the square, this museum — which literally resembles a life size doll house — contains 6,000+ dolls from vintage dolls to celebrity look-a-likes to vintage G.I. Joe’s. The oldest doll in the collection even dates back to 1860. That’s older than the town.
Ghosts and Legends Tour
With as much history as this town has, it’s no surprise that a few town dwellers might not have ever left. This ~one hour long guided tour takes you around the square to learn about the ghosts of Granbury’s past. If you’re lucky — or, unlucky depending on who you ask — you might meet “the Faceless Girl,” or perhaps John Wilkes Booth.
Brazo’s Drive-In
This outdoor movie cinema can fit up to 250 cars + is perfect for the whole family. Enjoy traditional movie theater concessions and a classic film, all from the comfort of your own car.
🍔 Where to eat
Restaurant Anise
It’s not just a restaurant — it’s an experience. With a 4.9 rating on Google, this destination is a must-eat for foodies and has earned a spot on the official Granbury Foodie Trail. French chef Megan Babineau changes the dinner menu quarterly to keep things fresh + the restaurant hosts monthly events including special holiday dinners.
Ketlzer’s Schnitzel Haus & Biergarten
A little slice of Germany — Ketzler’s has proudly been serving Granbury for over a decade and is located right on the square. It began in 1988 when Herbet Ketzler, who dreamed of bringing authentic German food to Texas, migrated to Texas with his daughter Angelika.
Revolver Brewing
This family-owned craft brewery is situated ~20 minutes outside of historic downtown. The property has a small stage for local artists to play while you and your friends enjoy fresh beer + grub from a couple of rotating food trucks. Be sure to time your visit just right, as it is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays.
🏨 Places to stay
Texas Heritage Cabins
Approximately seven from the square, these cabins are the perfect spot for visitors looking for a slower pace. Each cabin is equipped with a private entrance, Dish satellite TV, central heat/air + more. Plus, it’s right next door to Revolver Brewing.
