Kimbell Art Museum 50th Anniversary Week

The Kimbell Art Museum is kicking off its 50th anniversary with week-long festivities from Oct. 4-Oct. 9. The Kimbell opened on Oct. 4, 1972, and has about 350 pieces of art in its permanent collection.

During its anniversary week, the museum is offering free admission to its new Murillo: From Heaven to Earth exhibition. On Sat., Oct. 8, the museum is hosting a free festival from 1-7:30 p.m. with live performances, movies, Heim Barbecue + family-friendly activities. RSVP now.

The Sid Richardson Museum’s 40th Anniversary

The Sid Richardson Museum is celebrating 40 years in Cowtown. The Western art museum opened a new exhibit — “Night & Day: Frederick Remington’s Final Decade” — over the weekend which features rare artworks from the iconic Western artist.
