A guide to taco restaurants in Fort Worth.

Picture this: It’s lunchtime, and you’re looking for some delicious tacos. It is Tuesday, after all. Luckily, Fort Worth has tons of options for everyone, from the best breakfast taco in the city to handcrafted salsas so hot we’re already sweating.

Enough taco-ing about it, let’s dive in.
Birrieria Y Taqueria Cortez

📍2108 E. Rosedale St.

This local taco haven opened its first brick-and-mortar in October, where guests can enjoy signature family-recipe birria + live music. Owner Reglio Cortez credits his grandmother with her original recipe for the signature dish, which he puts a spin on with a cheese variation (quesatacos) + a pizza version.

Taco Heads

📍1812 Montgomery St.

From taco trailer to taco truck, this brick + mortar dream is the brainchild of local taco lover Sarah Castillo. Along with her mother, they serve up multi-generational family recipes in taco form. Guests can expect authentic tacos, including the best breakfast taco voted on in Fort Worth.

Maestro Tacos

📍3011 Bledsoe St.

The tacos here position guests at the intersection of Monterrey and Fort Worth. Mexican native Miguel the Maestro uses his experience as a butcher to provide a fresh take on tacos for FTW. Guests can expect locally-sourced ingredients + products prepared in house daily. On his website, Miguel says “fresh ingredients, slow cooking, and fast service. That’s all you need.” Sign us up.

Salsa Limon

📍925 University Dr.

Nicknamed Salsita by its founders, Rosalia + Milo, this taco joint specializes in spicy salsas, including their “Mexican-grade hot” Habanero salsa. As an ode to their childhood, they dedicate their taqueria to the traditions of growing up in Mexico. Guests can enjoy fresh everything, including stiff real lime margaritas.

Los Taco H’s Taqueria

📍3025 Cleburne Rd.

This outstanding taqueria was brought to Fort Worth by way of Mexico City, specializing in tortas + handmade quesadillas. Guests can choose from more than a dozen types of tacos, including ones with cactus. The website says it’s the best tacos in town, and from the looks of the menu, they might have a claim to the throne.
