With spring in full swing + winter well behind us, it’s time to say “out with the old.” Spring is the season of rebirth, so why not give new life to like-new or gently used items?
In the spirit of spring cleaning, we’ve rounded up a few FTW organizations that accept donated items, help locals in need + support community causes.
Vehicles
Donate a Car 2 Charity, Make-A-Wish, and Goodwill North Central Texas accept car donations. Goodwill will accept cars even if they aren’t running and will send you a receipt letter with the sales price for tax records.
Clothing
Open Doors 4 Women relies on donations of linens to provide clothing and a place to stay for individuals experiencing housing insecurity.
Hope Supply Co. provides clothes, formula + diapers to families dealing with emergency situations.
Berry Good Buys Resale accepts clothing, furniture, and home goods for resale to support SafeHaven of Tarrant County.
Fort Worth Community Collaborative has distributed 6,000+ lbs of clothing to local communities over the last two years.
Or, visit one of Goodwill’s 30+ local donation centers to drop off everything from clothing to housewares to electronics.
Kitchenware
The Tarrant Area Food Bank and Funky Town Fridge accept food and cooking + baking supplies that are unused or can be reused.
Childcare
Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth accepts childcare supplies + clothing to provide resources to parents in need.
Furniture
Trinity Habitat for Humanity uses donated equipment + furniture to build homes — so if you have leftovers from a project you didn’t complete or a remodel, you know what to do. It will also pick up pre-approved car donations.
Plus, check out local Salvation Army centers to donate furniture and appliances.
