With the weather starting to cool off, it’s time to lace up your sneakers and head to these local trails to start training for upcoming races. Browse our list of marathons, half marathons, and 10K + 5K races happening this fall in Fort Worth.

Oktoberfest Run und Ride

Run a 5K or 10K along the Trinity Trails or bike 20 miles through town. Participants get a free three-day pass to the festival celebrating German culture. Bonus points if you wear lederhosen.

Rock of Ages Run

Rock your way through a 5K, 10K, or half marathon to the beat of music that will be played along the course. Plus, chow down on post-race pancakes.

John Wayne Grit Series

The 5K course starts at John Wayne: An American Experience and travels along the Trinity Trail. The race benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

The 5- and 10-mile courses trail down the main runway, through a historic hanger, and past a collection of military airplanes. Proceeds benefit the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department and future programs.

Fort Worth Marathon

Run along the Trinity River and back to Panther Island Pavilion during the full marathon, half marathon, and 5K course with food trucks, hot showers, and music. The race raises funds to fight childhood obesity in the Tarrant County area.

FWRC Runners In Motion 5K

Hosted by the Fort Worth Runners Club, participants will start at Pavilion 3 and run a flat 5K course around Trinity Park.

Pumpkin Spice Half Marathon, 5K, + 10K

Cruise along the Trinity River during a variety of races + enjoy Pumpkin Spice coffee, hot chocolate, beer, and music after the race. Proceeds benefit various North Texas organizations including Animal Rescue Crusaders of North Texas, Hands of Hope, and Girls on the Run DFW.

Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot

The annual Thanksgiving race runs along the Clearfork trail with 1K, 5K, and 10K courses. Proceeds support programs at The Y including childcare, water safety lessons, summer camp, and youth sports.
