Historic Fort Worth Inc. wants you to nominate historic buildings for its annual Most Endangered Places list. Owners of a recognized “Most Endangered” property will receive increased public awareness and assistance from the preservation group.
💸 What is the list for?
The annual list is a marketing and educational tool that highlights historic landmarks + resources threatened by several different circumstances — lack of maintenance, loss of parking, and lack of awareness of economic incentives to rehab historic buildings.
🏢 What buildings have been saved?
This year, a wide range of sites is being considered, including commercial and residential buildings, monuments, bridges + landscapes. Need an idea of some of the buildings that have been added to the list in the past? Here’s a look:
- The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth | Est. 1903-1911
- Farrington Field | Est. 1939
- Jack A. Billingsley Field House | Est. 1953
- Fort Worth Community Arts Center and W. E. Scott Theatre | Est. 1954-1974
- Knights of Pythias Hall | Est. 1925
- Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House | Est. 1899
🗣️ How can your voice be heard?
You can make your nomination by filling out this form by Friday, March 15. An announcement of what landmarks made the list will be made on Tuesday, May 7 at 12 p.m. at the McFarland House, located at 1110 Penn St.
