Monday, Sept. 4 is Labor Day — an annual federal holiday, first designated in 1894, that honors the contributions of workers in America. We’ve all been working hard through these hot summer months, so we’d recommend dropping by one of these six local events to celebrate the time off.

Now through Monday, Sept. 4, celebrate with five thrilling rodeos, live music, lawn games + giveaways. Plus, shop Kendra Scott’s interactive Yellow Rose experience with a jewelry collection commemorating Texas heritage.

Labor Day 5K | Trinity Park Pavilion 1
Join the Fort Worth Runners Club for the 28th annual race at 8 a.m. with a free kids 1K fun run at 7:30 a.m. Participants are eligible to win a $50 Luke’s Locker gift card.

Labor Fest | The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion
Hosted by Tarrant County AFL-CIO, the festival will have live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and a kid-friendly zone with face painting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pro tip: Bring a union ID to get discounts on food.

Classic Car Show | Lynn Smith Chevrolet, Burleson
