The new year promises to be an exciting one for Fort Worth — especially for us foodies. From the No. 1 rooftop restaurant in the world to a new barbecue joint in the heart of the city, we’ve made a list of some of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2022.
Paloma Suerte , Mule Alley, 122 Exchange Ave.
Chef Tim Love — the owner of four other Stockyard restaurants — is opening his first Tex-Mex restaurant that will feature signature cocktails + five varieties of birria tacos grilled tableside.

Fitzgerald , 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd.
Chef Ben Merritt, a 2019 Chopped winner, will take over the former Blu Crab space and feature menu items like crawfish fondue, lobster corn dogs + crab beignets.

Don Artemio , 3268 W. 7th St.
Chef Juan Ramón Cárdenas Cantú is transforming the former Gatti’s Pizza in the cultural district into a place that embodies Northeastern Mexican culture. The menu will feature items built around authentic Mexican cuisine like roasted goat and fresh tortillas.

Quince , 1701 River Run
TCU grad Brian Sneed will open what’s been named the No. 1 rooftop restaurant in the world along the Trinity River with dishes from around the globe like ceviche, yakimeshi + burgers.

Brix Barbecue , 1012 S. Main St.
Pitmaster Trevor Sales is saying goodbye to his “Smokestream
” and hello to his first brick and mortar location, featuring all the barbecue fixins’ like brisket, sausage, and crispy-edged burgers.

Paris Coffee Shop , 704 W. Magnolia Ave.
Known to be one of Fort Worth’s oldest restaurants, the breakfast joint closed last year for renovations on the kitchen, dining room, restrooms + storage areas. It’s expected to reopen with some of its favorite menu items like corned beef hash and fluffy meringue pies.

Jon’s Grille , 2905 W. Berry St.
The original Jon’s Grille opened in 1989 and was a staple for students and staff at TCU. After its unexpected closure in 2021, Chef Jon Bonnell decided to reopen it with a focus on American classics.

Caterina’s, 128 Exchange Ave.
This upscale eatery, also owned by Chef Tim Love, will open in Mule Alley — across the street from Paloma Suerte — and feature dark ambient lighting and white tablecloths. Tim describes the restaurant as a flashback to the 1950s

Fred’s Texas Cafe , 7101 Camp Bowie W.
On New Year’s Eve, Fred’s closed its iconic W. 7th St. location, but a bigger location with the same great burgers, conversation, and music is expected to open just down the street.

Truck Yard , Alliance Town Center
Described as an adult playground, the restaurant is expanding to Fort Worth with live music, indoor + outdoor patios, a full bar, and a 38-foot Ferris wheel — not to mention the endless brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour offerings.

61 Osteria , 500 W. 7th St.
Sitting on the ground floor of the newly-renovated First on 7th complex, Chef Blaine Staniford will serve up fresh dishes with classic Italian simplicity. Bonus: most dishes will only feature three to four ingredients.

Taking over the space of McKinley’s Bakery in University Park Village, this health spot is serving up made-from-scratch meals like bowls, wraps + salads.
